We were quiet last week but for good reason; recuperation was needed after participating in the Ride to Conquer Cancer. Fantastic weekend, amazing event and the weather was great. Now, back to work! This is really ‘two weeks in photos’ but we’re ok with it if you are.
Discovered the very colorful and beautifully distressed art work of local artist Dana Mooney at a quick visit to Peridot.
Another great discovery; this amazing tile from Mutina Tile (thanks to Angela at Stone Tile)
Toured the striking new men’s floor at Totokaelo in Seattle. They’ve achieved the most naturalustic lighting that I have ever seen in a space with zero windows (this was actually a parking garage before the renovation). The clay wall sculpture is a custom installation by Stan Bitters (each tile weighs 40 lbs!). If you’re ever in Seattle this is a must see shop for the design-obessed and their staff is super-informative.
Found this bright yellow industrial sink at a local salvage shop:
The Museum of Vancouver is one of the city’s great buildings (thanks to architect Gerald Hamilton) – look at that fantastic modular brick – love it!
It’s officially summer (!!!) which means the streets are lush with trees, the sun is shining, we’re biking to meetings (and to picnics) and I’ve already dropped one Blizzard on the ground. A moment of silence, please.
And last but not least … here’s me and my Ride to Conquer Cancer team at the finish line. 250Kms from Vancouver to Seattle and $10.4 Million raised (nearly $16,000 of which was raised by the 5 of us. Not too shabby).
