It took serious vision to imagine a family home on this shallow lot with a steep rock face at its back — but with views of Whistler Mountain like these, vision was in good supply. Working closely with the architect, we developed a layout that maximises function and keeps the landscape at the centre of every room. A simple palette of white, black, concrete, and natural oak runs through the entire house, creating continuity from entry to back deck. The outdoors was never far from the brief.
