Spanning four floors at 200 Granville Street, the new workplace unites both Intact Insurance and belairdirect under one address, streamlining operations and creating a shared environment that supports growth and collaboration.
Designed in partnership with Fusion Projects, the space centres around a welcoming staff lounge that acts as a social anchor for both brands. Expansive harbour views and abundant natural light enhance the sense of openness, while thoughtful planning ensures these qualities extend throughout each floor.
A balance of open work areas, private offices, and varied meeting spaces provides flexibility for different work styles. All furniture was specified to reflect each brand’s identity while maintaining a cohesive overall aesthetic.

Merging two distinct insurance brands into a shared workplace required more than efficient floor planning. Intact and belairdirect each have their own identity and culture — the design needed to honour that while creating genuine common ground. Harbour views and natural light were strategic assets, not givens; the challenge was ensuring they extended meaningfully across all four floors rather than benefiting only corner offices.
Within six months of opening, voluntary attendance had increased measurably. The kitchen level became an informal anchor for cross-team interaction. Staff survey results showed significantly higher scores for space satisfaction, pride in the workplace, and sense of community — outcomes that translate directly into retention and recruitment.
